“Way Out Westward” Southwest Tour, 2012

June 25, 20243 Comments

The Way Out Westward crew. Photo: Bandy

The idea for the Way Out Westward tour was simple. The goal being to gather as many ripping skaters as possible, pile them into a van along with some quality videographers and photographers, and then set out to spread the Gospel of Shred. We began our adventures in Abuqurquie, New Mexico at Timeship Racing’s SLAP event and finished with the Carve crew in Austin, Texas. The following is a full-length video presentation of our tour as well as an extensive, three-chapter photographic catalog of this radical roadtrip. Please enjoy. Tell a friend. Go Skate!

The Volante video of this on Vimeo is one of my favorite skating videos I have ever seen….and I have seen a ton. I was wondering what the most popular size of the Comet Shred was for the ditch riding/sliding/freeriding. I am trying to decide on which size to get and what set up. Any info on set ups used during the trip would be great too.

Thanks so much for the help and keep up the great work. Love the website!

Thanks! Blake did a great job on the video. As for the six of the Comet Shred, I’d say that the Shred 35′ was the most used on this trip, but the Shred 38 was in use as well, and a new 33′ Shred type style board was being tested as well—more on that new board coming soon. Stay rollin’ and thanks for the stoke.
