The Vermont Longboard Crew is proud to announce the second annual High View Autumn Bomb! The VTLBC is a group of skaters within Vermont who all share a passion for longboarding. Together, we plan, organize, and host grass-root events around Vermont. Last year we held the first High View Autumn Bomb with great success, which only happened thanks to the support of our sponsors and volunteers. This year we double the rider cap to 64, and made it a two-day event.
October 1st, 9:00 am, the smell of hay in the air, the leaves a orangy-yellow, and teary-eyed skaters gathering at the same hill as last year in Essex, Vermont. A steep drop into a sharp, yet forgiving right-hand turn, shortly followed by a sweeping left. The pavement wants to grip. It’s fairly new, and isn’t plowed in the winter, creating a great racing surface. This year we added cone gates after the sharp right, that really tightens up the left hand sweeper. This might be a short hill, but racing it takes strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. Last year racing took place fairly quickly, but this year with more skaters showing interest, we decided it would be best to have the freeride the next day, at a better freeride hill.

October 2nd: The freeride. Last year’s freeride was awesome, and this year it will be too. Skaters stumble out of beds, couches, tents, hammocks, and off floors to make way to the Pipeline in Milton, Vermont for some shredding. The road flows down the hill like water with three swooping turns of pristine pavement that slides wonderfully. Oh, and it’s over a hundred vertical-foot drop. Turns like these are rare on the east coast. And no joke, there is a pipeline.
Sign-up: To sign up visit http://www.ncdsa.com/contest_registration.asp?ContestID=523 and fill out an entry form. Entry fee TBD (around $20).
We are always looking for sponsors, contributors, and volunteers. If you are interested in helping out, please send an email to email@example.com for more information. We would like to thank our current and past sponsors for making High View Autumn Bomb II happen.
