Earthwing “Raisin Hell” - Board Review

February 19, 20251 Comment

Features:

This new Earthwing “Raisin Hell” deck is a 33” long, 9.75” wide directional double-kick featuring a 17.5 to 19” adjustable wheelbase, a short, square-ish snubbed-nose, deep concave, flared wheelwells, slight rocker, a sharp edge on the top rail, and is constructed of 7 plies of maple.

Testing the Earthwing Skateboards “Raisin Hell” Deck:

After we set up this new deck, we skated any and every spot we could find.

Pros:

Our favorite thing about this board is it’s versatility. The ample wheelbase for a double-kick such as this, along with the shorter nose and slight rocker, provide a super comfy and stiff standing platform ideal for urban freeriding and also for a variety of street & park ripping. The deep concave construction also felt super sweet under foot.

Cons:

As we mentioned, we really enjoyed the Raisin Hell’s ability to rip most anything. That said, the sharp top rail–although quite comfortable when hitting hills—was definitely prone to chipping—as we experienced in the streets when the deck got banged up pretty hard.

Overall:

Overall, Earthwing’s Raisin Hell is a comfortable and quite capable “skate-everything” deck. And although we had a slight chipping issue via repetitive impacts to its sharp top rail, this issue was merely aesthetic, and did not affect our super fun sessioning of hills, parks, and the streets too—a fun shape with a range of shred capabilities.
