Wheelbase is a magazine born from the idea that the stories of skateboarding are best told by the skateboarders themselves—be it through photography, film, video, fine art, the written word, or otherwise—To put it simply, we have dedicated our lives to skateboarding and we love telling the tales of our skateboarding tribe.
Wheelbase became a reality, one year ago, on March 18th, 2011 and we are so grateful to be here living out our passion for Shredding! In order to express our gratitude and excitement, we decided to throw a Wheelbase one-year anniversary party and celebrate all of our friends and family who have made Wheelbase a reality. Please enjoy some of the sweet moments we captured throughout the night’s festivities:
Wheelbase would be nothing without our radical team—big ups to the crew: Liam Morgan, Pete Eubank, Dave Tannaci, McLovin, Shawn Tseng, Big Sol, Aaron & Becca Hollebeke, Tom Iturruran, Amanda Powell, Kyle Rice, Justin Preston, and Andrew Parker.
A huge thanks goes out to all of the Wheelbase Contributing Artists: Will Edgecomb, Jon Huey, Doug York, Les San Jose, Max Dubler, Blake Smith, Danny Conner, Dustin Damron, Andrew Mercado, Rafael Fazano, David Marano, Max Capps, Chubbs, Brian Babbish, Reggie Ballesteros, and Justin Reynolds.
Much love to all our advertisers: Sector 9, Riviera, Muir, Gullwing, Comet Skateboards, Paris Trucks, Eastern Skate supply, Bustin Boards, Rip City Skates, Loaded, Caliber Truck Co., Switchbacks, Divine Wheels, Orangatang, and Unmodern Industries.
A special thanks goes out to the following supporters: Louis Pilloni and the boys of Skate House Media, Joey, Sol, and Dennis; and all the homies at Resource Distribution, The Sunset Sliders, Brandon of Caliber, EG and all of Sector 9, Jason at Comet Skateboards, Andrew Mercado, Skateboarding itself, and the especially the ever-bodacious, Ashley Frost-Morgan.
In the years to come, we will continue showcasing longboard skateboarding—and everything in between—in the most fun, sophisticated, creative, and inspirational light as we possibly can. Count on it.
We’d like to take a hot second to send big kisses and a huge thank you to all the skaters out there who enjoy what we do at Wheelbase as well as to those friends and family who came out last Saturday night to show support and to help celebrate Wheelbase’s One-Year Anniversary. Stay Rollin’!
