Here is the second installment of the “Dynamic Duo” article I started at SkateSlate a few months back. This time around I chose two friends that have stoked my skatefire and inspired me to get better at freeriding. I met the both of them while working at Loaded last year and we’ve been friends ever since. James Kelly: Moves To “Greener” Pastures

The “American Dream” James Kelly unloaded from Loaded & Orangatang and was quickly swooped up by Arbor and Abec 11. Downhill champion Kevin Reimer is reported to have also left Orangatang. He is reported to be riding for Abec 11 as well. Damn! What an interesting start to 2011. Wheelbase wishes all involved the best. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
What’s Next?

So yeah, I’m starting this new longboard-skateboard magazine and calling it Wheelbase. Shit’s crazy, I can’t believe it! Who would have thought that a punk-ass skate-rat would ever be in a position to start a magazine? This is such a trip—a good trip, but a trip nonetheless. I get a bit freaked out sometimes thinking about it all, and although I believe there is a serious need for a fresh perspective in longboarding—one that comes direct from actual skateboarders—ultimately, who knows what the hell’s gonna happen in the longterm? I can’t answer that. Who can? It’s my believe though that the most important moments in life are the one’s that test one’s mettle. This is one of those moments for me. My heart bleeds into this magazine, my back and gray matter are dedicated to the task completely—still, nothing’s a sure thing. Read More
