WORDS & PHOTOS Marcus Bandy
Not this last weekend, but the weekend before that, I loaded up my dog Colbee, a cooler, a couple-few skateboards, and my box of cameras into the Ranger and I headed out to one of my favorite places in Southern California, Kern County. My buddy Daniel Engel turned me on to the area via his Bakersfield Outlaw 5 event last year, an event that later was to be the impetus for a 12-page shredventure article in our most recent Wheelbase Magazine Print Edition: Issue Four titled “Kern County Adventures”. Anywho, I’d been itching to come back to this epic place ever since, and although I was only able to come out for the first day of this year’s Bakersfield Outlaw 6—which was an all-day freeride—I had a blast hanging out, walking the doge, and shooting some pics of both Kern Side and one of the most epic and undulating asphalt barrels in all of California.
Another Kern County Adventure vested and stored in the memory-banks. Cha-ching!
Please enjoy this collection of pics featuring my homies skating for the pure love of it and in a truly amazing locale. Gratitude is the fucking attitude! Amen.
