Muir Skate’s Downhill Disco, April 30th
At Wheelbase, we’re not big fans of polyester shirts, bell bottom jeans, or the Bee Gees; but we’re always down for some skateboarding-disco-action. Muir Skate.com is having what seems to be a pretty cool slide jam and race. The event is being held on April 30th in the San Diego vicinity. A secret location for the event will be made available the day before on their facebook page. If you’re in the area you should come out and get righteous with us—Wheelbase will be there for sure—just look for the dudes sporting sweet mustaches, Aviators, and black Wheelbase t-shirts.

2011 Maryhill Festival Of Speed: June 29-July 3
Yes! It is once again time for the Maryhill Festival Of Speed. The annual Maryhill downhill race is definitely one of the funnest (est) races held in the US. Perfect asphalt, buttery corners, and an epic backdrop of Washington countryside. If you make it to one race this year, make it to the 2011 Maryhill FOS, June 29-July 3. You will not regret it. We’ll be there for sure; waiting for ya with a cold beer, some stickers, and a story or two to tell. March 19th: COAST California Slide Jam & Saftey Clinic

There’s a pretty cool event going on in Southern California, March 19th. This event is for anybody interested in learning the skills to riding safer, smarter, as well as gaining the tools needed to take positive action should anything ever go wrong during a session. There is also a slide jam to accompany the safety clinic—should be a rad day of learning and skating for sure. Vans Shoes Showin’ an Interest in Downhill Skateboarding.
Here’s a new vid posted by the dudes over at Vans Shoes. The skater is downhill shredder and SkateHouseMeda local, Kody Noble. It seems as if Vans is beginning to get a bit interested in what’s going on over on this side of the tracks. Let’s hope this continues.
