Colton Killoran Interview: Redheader Shredder

Nowadays, every grom can do switch standups and crazier stuff than I would ever think of trying (Shout out to Chance Gaul and his 360 early grabs in SD), its hard to find people who really stand out, but guess what? We found him, and it’s not just because he has red hair.
This summer I had the chance to meet a young up-and-comer by the name of Colton Killoran, as well as hook him up with a sponsorship from Switchback Longboards because we think this kid rips. Growing up in beautiful British Columbia he had all the landscape to excel but happened to live in Vancouver’s version of Laguna Beach with bylaws making it illegal to skate in certain (incredible) areas.
Colton and his friends, who make up the “BC Collective”, (Colton Killoran, Kyle Smith, Spencer Dolphin, and Tyson Elenko) have been making some incredible videos showcasing their progression and have been skating like serious champs; they have some of the most boss standup slide skills in the business—and these kids don’t even use pucks on their gloves!
Anyway, it’s time to let this down to earth redhead answer some questions. Read More
Long Treks Morocco, Episode 2: The Musical to Safi
These dudes have skated across the entire US, I think Canada, definitely South America, and maybe Mongolia—who knows? This time around though; Adam, Paul, and Aaron skate across Africa’s Morocco. To most, skating across an entire country might seem a bit counter-intuitive on a number of levels, but these dudes get their rocks off on it, and we can’t stop watching ‘em get their rocks off doing it. Please enjoy episode two of their latest Long Treks in Morocco.
Abec 11 Releases Fernando Yuppie’s First Pro Wheel
Our homie Fernando Yuppie is one of the raddest skaters, ever. We are very stoked that Abec 11 (via subLime) has just released Fernando’s first signature wheel. Hell yeah! This wheel is designed with some serious sliding in mind—the kind of gnarly sliding that Fernando and his family of shredders have been perfecting for generations. Congratulations to both Fernando and Abec 11. Very Stoked! When ya have a chance, also make sure to check out Fernando’s interview and the famous video he made exclusively for Wheelbase: Fernando Yuppie Interview: Pure Soon
Here’s the official Abec 11 word on Fernando’s new signature wheels:
“This High Octane AFS (Anti-Flat Spot) urethane formula is for insane slides. These subLIME PowerSlides in 62mm were developed for Slide Masters including Fernando and Sergio Yuppie. The new 62mm has Fernando’s name and silhouette on it. With nearly a year in development, they are the best tech-slide wheels to date!”
