Wheelbase Photog Challenge 1.0

April 18, 2011No Comments

Welcome to the first-ever Wheelbase Challenge! After a bit of ponderin’, ganderin’, and head-scratchin’; we decided to start things off with a photography challenge so that skaters from all over the universe could send in their mostest buttery skate shots, win some prizes, and have their photos posted on the site.

When it’s all said and done, we’ll pick three of the raddest shots and give away some epic gear provided by OrangatangWheels, Paris Trucks, and Sector 9. Oh yeah, the three winners will also have their shots published in a Feature article on the Wheelbase site. Stoke ‘em!

Anybody and everybody are welcome and encouraged to participate in this Wheelbase Challenge. There is no equipment or skill requirement. We only ask that your images be sent to us via an attachment in the form provided below.

Challenge Begins April 18th and Ends June 10th

How the Challenge Works:

I. Take a rad photograph of your buddy, pet, aliens, or mom riding his or her shred-sled. One photo entry per photographer please.

II. Upload that killer photo to a computer, and then send that photo to us via the form provided below. Please make sure to fill the form out completely before pressing Send.

III. Once we get the photo we will send you a confirmation email letting you know that we‘ve received it.

IV. Next, the Wheelbase Action Committee (WAC) will check out all of the entries, decide the top-three image, and then notify the photogs either by telepathy or just plain-old email—most likely it’ll be email. Also, this is when we’ll discuss who gets what prizes.

V. On June 13th the winners will be officially announced and their images published in a Wheelbase Challenge Feature article.

Judging:

We are looking for skate photos that are creative, unique, and inspirational—photos that make us want to go out and Ride! Of course technique will be at play, but the above ideas will out-weigh classroom technique in our choosing of the shots we like best.  We also don’t want anybody to get discouraged because they may not have the sickest camera or rip as hard as Little Johnny McShreddy. Using a point-and-shoot is just fine—skate how you want to skate. In fact, we encourage you to have fun with this challenge and use whatever equipment is at your disposal. Do your thing and enjoy the doing.

Prizes:

We have three bomb-butt prizes to give away and the disbursement will work as such: First Place will have first pick, Second Place will get second pick, and Third Place will enjoy the remaining prize.

Prize uno: Sector 9’s District hoodie with SST. (Click here for image)

Prize dos: Orangatang 86a Stimulus wheels. (Click here for image)

Prize tres: Paris 180 Adam Colton Signature Trucks. (and Click here for image)

Remember, have fun with it, and click dem cameras!

Wheelbase Photog Challenge Submission Form:

This Challenge is closed as of 6/10/2011. We are no longer accepting submissions. The winners of this Challenge will be announced via a Wheelbase feature article on Monday June 13, 2011.  Please stay tuned for the second Wheelbase Challenge very soon.

Thanks for getting radical,

Team Wheelbase
