Wheel Review: Hawgs “FSU”

August 20, 2012No Comments

The Hawgs FSU is a 70mm 80a performance freeride wheel and comes in either a stone ground or glossy contact patch.  This wheel features an exclusive, wide, low-profile center-set core; symmetrical design overall, a wide contact patch, and a chatter-free urethane compound.

The Testing:

For our testing of the  FSU we used both versions and hit one of our local neighborhood backroads.

Results/Findings:

Pros:

This wheel is a smooth slding, long lasting, and even-wearing freeride wheel. Based on our experience riding it we believe these qualities are due to the low-profile core, resilient yet highly slidable urethane, and the wheel’s overall symmetrical design.

Cons:

This wheel is best when ridden fast, so for slower stuff it might be a cool addition if this wheel came in a slightly harder urethane option as well.

Overall:

This Kyle Martin designed FSU Hawgs wheel is a legit freeriding wheel providing longlasting wear and chatter-free sliding. This wheel is best at speed and is a great option for the skater looking to go fast and slide for days.
