Soldiers of Downhill 2012 (Ohio): October 20 & 21

August 21, 2012No Comments

“Oh yeah!!! Back again for a third year—bigger and better than ever before! Soldiers of Downhill 2012!!! Get stoked and mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss this one. Prepare to get gnarly October 20th and 21st in the hills of the small town Bainbridge, Ohio. Two days packed with partying, shenanigans, and more fun than you can imagine.

Registration for Soldiers of Downhill 2012 will open Sunday July 22nd at 12:00pm EST @ www.ohiodownhillskate.com/events/ . Registration will cost $130 for one class + $25 for any additional classes. So if you want to race classic luge and street luge it will be a total cost of $155. Also, if you don’t pay/register by October 14th you will be charged an additional $25 for late registration. If you come to this event and you plan on riding at all, you must pay and register! Poachers will not be tolerated. Registration includes; two nights of camping, two full days of riding, and a t-shirt. We will be limiting registration to 100 riders this year. You don’t want to miss this event!

The course starts on a moderate decline, quickly dropping around a long sweeping left. The grade increases to just under 10% accelerating riders into a 90 degree fast, sharp right. You speed up down a 10% straight and set up for the fast chicanes, followed by a less severe set of chicanes. Then it’s a battle of momentum and aerodynamics to the finish of this 1.3 mile long course. The top speed for downhill skateboarders is about 56 mph.”  (Sean Graves)
