We, the people of Wheelbase Magazine — in order to form a more perfect union of shred, have joined forces with the city of San Pedro and the local skate community to create the the first-ever sanctioned and all-encompassing skateboarding event in Los Angeles on Saturday March 30, 2025: the “San Pedro Shred: Festival of Skate”.
Wheelbase Magazine is the official media sponsor for the entire event, and we are also organizing and operating the Slide Jam portion of the event.
Here’s the basic itinerary for the day: The entire event will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday March 30, 2025. Everything will shut down and attendees of the event will be notified and guided to the Slide Jam area for the Wheelbase Magazine Slide Jam/Demo from 2-4pm. The Slide jam course, however, will open to pre-registered riders starting at 10am. The mellow freeride area will be handled by Riviera Skateboards, Paris Truck Co., & Divine Wheels and will be open all day, except during the slide jam times mentioned above (2-4pm). The ramps, brand tents, food trucks (all four of them), and stage area is for all involved — this area is called the “Festival Area”.
The San Pedro Shred: Festival of Skate is a fully-sanctioned event, so you’d better plan on skating more than sitting!
Thanks to having the road closed off/sanctioned, there also may, or may not, be some supa-fun obstacles in the making. You didn’t hear it from me, but something like this could make an appearance at the hill… We’ll post s’more of this sort of propaganda as it’s nailed down.
